Group Presentations
Final BIG REVIEW Presentation DUE Monday 8.12
In lieu of an exam, we’re going to collectively compile an overview of the main topics covered in the course in one Big Review Presentation on the last day of class. Each of you will contribute a portion to this compilation.
So…how do we do this?!
- Choose a topic: Each group (A-E) is assigned a topical week from the semester (see table below). Among your groupmates, decide who will cover which of the sub-topics listed (or you may do a topic not listed that we covered that week).
- Prepare your topic material: Using a copy of the template here, each student will prepare slides to cover their sub-topic. You are free to use any of the content material available for that week to research your sub-topic. Slides should include enough text and visuals to provide enough information and detail to explain the key aspects of your topic. Each group has 16 minutes total, to cover the topics you picked from your assigned week. Please plan accordingly – I will have to cut folks off after time is up (sorry!)
- 250-word write up: Please provide one or two paragraphs that summarize your individual sub-topic. This is your chance to provide more context and details than you are able to convey in the presentation. Add this text to the first slide of your presentation in the speaker notes area. You will not be reading these write-ups during the presentation, but I will be reviewing them as part of your grade.
- DUE 8/12 before class: Since we are using google slides, please be sure your group’s slides (including the write-up in the speaker notes) are inserted into the final deck of slides before the start of class (this is the same template link you copied to work on your slides).
- Present!: In class on 8/12 each group will have 16 minutes to present your week’s topics as part of the Big Review (you won’t read your write up in the speaker notes, but I will😊).
The slides and your write up are worth 10 points.
Remember, if there was a topic covered that week and not listed below, but you really want to address it, feel free to do so in lieu of those listed.
